Three Sudbury Teens Hit By Car

DRIVER FACING MYRIAD OF CHARGES AFTER THREE TEENS STRUCK AND KILLED
A Sudbury, Ontario 26 year old male has been charged follwing an accident that took the lives of three Sudbury local teens.
According to news reports, the driver of the vehicle hit the three children while they were walking along the side of a road near midnight. The driver apparently swerved to pass a car, then while “cutting” back into his lane, hit the three children. Two died instantly on the scene, while the third died in hospital hours later. Alcohol seems to be a contributing factor.
I constantly remind my teenage son about walking along Mill Street in Woodstock. Mill Street is another Woodstock street that has no sidewalks (similar to the Sudbury situation) installed but has hundreds and hundreds of new housing units in the area. Children are forced to share this same street with vehicles that are travelling at highway speeds for the most part(despite it being marked as a 60km/h zone) and many near misses have occurred on this road.
Parents should remain diligent and caution their children against walking along streets that have no sidewalks no matter what time of day it is.
