Iranians Continue Country Wide Protests Against Election Results

IRANIANS TAKE TO THE STREETS IN PROTEST OF AYATOLLAHS’ DECISION TO BACK HARDLINER

Hundreds of thousands of Iranians are taking to the streets in an effort to overturn the decision of the Supreme Spiritual Leader, the Ayatollah, to back the incumbent presidential candidate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad after a vote was held that was largely considered to be fraudulent.

Irans’ Spiritual Leader says that he has chosen the incumbent over all other candidates as the incumbents’ philosophy is closer to his own and refuses to yield to mass demonstrations requesting a reount of all votes.
If the Iranian revolutionary guard cannot keep the protests in check, there is a good possibility that the entire nation could fall into the hands of the somewhat democratic opposition, resulting in another internal revolution.
Demonstrators are being shot, journalists are being arrested and the media in Iran has been all but shutdown in an effort to quell the unrest.
