This Is Stupid…Kinda Sounds Like Bumfights For Politicians

It’s funny.
I had a conversation yesterday with a friend of mine and he pointed out something that I had failed to look at totally.
Why is it that we should bail out anyone when we have subsidized the competitor(we paid millions for this Toyota plant in Woodstock), subsidized public transportion that is in tight competition for riders with the car companies, and then bailout GM when they lose their shirts to the competitors?
Sounds like the government is just trying to create fights amongst the “little” people doesn’t it?
Seems just like a political form of bumfighting.

So, we subsidize public transit to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars to discourage people from owning cars.

We subsidize foreign auto manufacturers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars to bring them to Canada so they can compete with domestic manufacturers.

We subsidize domestic manufacturers to the tune of billions of dollars because the demand for cars is down and they can't compete with the foreign manufacturers we paid to come here.

Have I got it right? If so that's not the end of it.

Now that they have borrowed billions to buy an interest in GM on our behalf we are all owners of GM stock. We are also owners of the debt they used to buy the stock. Will they continue to subsidize transit and give massive breaks to Toyota (with our money?) You bet they will.

So we own stock in GM and we are continuing to pay to cripple GM's market and subsidize GM's competition.

    This is called Government.

Government equals organized crime with indemnification from the law.
