TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED IN MISSING 8 YEAR OLD VICTORIA STAFFORD CASE
A joint news conference of the OPP and the Woodstock Police Force will be held today to discuss the arrests of two persons that occurred in the past few hours in connection with the missing child Victoria Stafford, 8 of Woodstock, Ontario.
No word exists at this time on the condition of the child, or her personal whereabouts, but police will answer some of those questions later on today when they hold their press conference.
Family members, or better yet, the father Rodney Stafford has confirmed that arrests were made, but no word on who the arrested people are at this point.

Two citizens from the City of Woodstock were arrested and charged with first degree murder.
ARRESTED ARE:
28-year-old Michael Thomas Rafferty and 18-year-old Terri-Lynn McClintic, both of Woodstock.

Was it really necessary to write the above? It makes her sound guilty of something. Everyone has been targeting this woman & still continue to do so even though NEITHER parent is one of the people arrested.
Maybe it's just me but I found that offensive.
You may be right on that one. I definitely didnt intend on targeting the mom, and I just found it odd that she was not available today when the father was.
It is a totally tragic case. It has divided the community immensely, people on one side or the other and everyone has forgotten about Victoria nearly.
That is the real tragedy.The life of a child is the tragedy here. What has happened to her is the issue.
If no one knows who has been arrested how can penlan state with such utter conviction that “NEITHER parent is one of the people arrested?”

Because Newsworld continues to report that neither of the parents have been arrested. They are making a point of saying that. You sound like you are attacking me & that you want the mother to be guilty, for some reason. Turn on your T.V. to CBC Newsworld, or go the CBC website for the info.

Yes, the tragedy is that there is a child missing. It's possible the mother is distraught, who knows. Apparently Rebecca Stafford has put up a wall on the Facebook page for now, "out of respect for the family at this time" she said.
I have a sinking feeling about this.

I share that sinking feeling, and sincerely hope I end up ashamed of myself by 3:00 this afternoon. If my tawdry suspicions get confirmed, it would lead to too many unanswerable questions – starting with WHY????

Tori is dead. Murder charges against the 2 arrested. Maybe that’s why no one has seen her mom. From CBC Newsworld.

Heartbreaking news. That poor child.
What a heartbreak….my hearts go out to all who loved her. As a mother, I am mortified and outraged! I am still angry that an Amber Alert was not issued immediately. I do not care about the criteria! Clearly the criteria need to be carefully examined. It is common knowledge that grievous harm typically occurs within hours. There is no excuse for not erring on the side of caution when a child is not where they should be! I am so saddened by this tragedy, I hope something will be learned and procedures will be closely examined in this case.

First I’d like to say my heart goes out to Tori’s family. As for the comment made earlier on this blog about the mother is no where to be found well to the person who wrote that imagine yourself a mother and think about what she has gone through. Then think if you just found out that your 8yr old daughter is probably dead. and not just an accidental death but brutaly murdered. Would your first concern be to face the media and the public??? I mean come on give the poor women a break she just found out her little girl is gone. That a two people took her life for no reason but there own sick pleasures. People really need to give up on critisising this poor family. It seems to be that they had nothing to do with what has happened so now people should just let them grieve. I am sure they will make a statement once they are ready. And people need to respect that. Just put yourself in their shoes….
Again though above and beyond that my heart and prayers goes out the families. No one deserves to go through this and the two that are responsible for thisdeserve to rot…I was watching the clip on the news when they were bringing the guy micheal into what I believe was the court house and he was hiding his face..what I have to say to that is he is a coward. He has the balls to kill a little innocent girl but then can’t show his face…that just shows he is a piece of s**t…i hope he gets what he deserves..to suffer for the rest of his pathetic life..
This is a terrible blow but somehow not unexpected despite the continued optimism and hope. As the story unfolds there will be more twists and turns. I think there are many questions yet to be answered. For many people, both in and out of the area it has been a story of continual frustration and anger as well as hope. Calm has to prevail in Woodstock in order to provide the residents and children a sense of dignity and order despite the outrage. All that effort and energy looking for her needs to be channeled into something constructive even now that the outcome has been so terrible.

I just want the family to know I am so very sorry for their loss. It is absolutely heartbreaking to think of what has happened to an innocent 8 year old child. It’s time for the criticism of the family to stop. It’s become absolutely clear that we can speculate on why so-and-so did this and why they did that. What we haven’t come to realize it that there is most often many possible answers and they aren’t all sinister. It’s time to give Tara a break so she can do what she can to hold it together for her son. She has a very, very difficult task ahead of her that no one should be subjected to. If we are to place blame, let’s place it on the accused.
After reading her disgusting Facebook description, I doubly wish for the death penalty to be reinstated in this country.
What i want to know is, how were they caught? What kind of lead and what kind of information are the killers giving the police in order to find Tori’s body?
