And Another Reason Why I Don’t Attend Church

WOODSTOCK MINISTER FACING SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

Okay, he’s innocent until proven guilty, but that doesn’t mean that anyone should trust the man or leave their children alone with him until this is done and dealt with. In fact, the man should be forced to step down from his ministerial position until he’s found either guilty or not guilty…but who am I to say, I don’t even go to their churches.
David Woodall a United Church minister from Woodstock Ontario has been arrested and charged with sexual assualts, and sexual exploitation as a result of sleepovers the minister held throughout the 1990’s up until 2001 in his churches. The Minister was released on bail(I wonder why???) and allowed to return to his home and community while waiting for his trial to begin.
Anyone affected by the ministers’ actions should contact the police immediately.

That’s not a reason for not attending church. The actions of some individuals in any organization are not necessarily a reflection on the organization or the culture as a whole.

Stephen Harper is an a**hole, but that doesn’t make Canada a bad country.

The minister in question has been forced to step down from his position until this is resolved. The United Church has its own procedures in response to accusations of sexual misconduct that he will also have to face, and despite official denials, these are usually conducted with an attitude that the minister is guilty unless proven innocent. I will be surprised if he ever ministers in our church again no matter what the courts say.

I was so sorry to read this story. What have the children been put through and how will they make their way through this life as adults?

How brave it is that these adults have come forward and reported crimes that they experienced as children. I applaud their strength!!!
