CONservative Oxford MP’s Son Found Not Guilty Of Assault

An OCPS Officer has been found not guilty of assault(you folks didn’t really expect a guilty verdict did ya???I mean, we are dealing with an officer of the law here)in the Sam Zabian case.
According to testimony that was unbelievable(according to the judge)a man who was later identified as OCPS officer Mackenzie burst into the family restaurant known as the Oasis steakhouse in October of 2007 with a gun drawn and forthwith(after some initial confusion)allegedly assaulted the owner/operator of the establishment.
The owner of the restaurant was unable to have local police charge the officer and was forced to take the issue to Hamilton Wentworth police for an investigation and laying of charges.
The judge stated in his dismissal of the charges that there was “confusion” and “inconsistencies” in the statements and testimony of crown witnesses, as well there was an issue of all the complaninants’ witnesses being friends of the alleged victim…so the judge was basically saying, if you have your friends and family near while being assaulted by a cop, tell them to leave, get better witnesses, then go to court.
Local Police Chief Ron Fraser took issue with the judges’ statement that the officer should not have drawn his loaded gun in the crowded restaurant. (of course he’s going to back the officer up, they are on the same team)
