WOODSTOCK GENERAL HOSPITAL INCREASES ADMINSTRATION SALARIES WHILE LAYING OFF STAFF

WOODSTOCK GENERAL ADMINSTRATOR INCREASES HER SALARY 11%…ISSUES LAYOFFS TO OTHERS

 Layoffs have hit Woodstock General Hospital and this isn’t pretty. Administration officals with WGH have announced the elimination of more than 30 full time positions within the hospital while at the same time the adminstration of this same hospital took some serious pay increases.(I guess they had to layoff those un-needed folks so they would have more cash for the CEO and other adminstration staff.)
 Frankly, this hospital is unable to keep its books straight and balanced. I personally feel that as long as this is the case, then no hospital adminstration should be paid any increases in salary until the books are balanced. 
 Woodstock Generals’ CEO increased her salary by more than $21,000.00 while at the same time, people working at the low end of the spectrum(like housekeeping staff) have had their jobs reduced or slashed entirely. Way to go CEO!
 Considering this is a taxpayer funded job opportunity and considering we are in the midst of a recession, I would encourage the CEO to reduce her salary to pre-2006 levels.
 Her wage increase is equivalent to 5 persons on welfare, or 2 part time employees who work for one year at a fast food restaurant.(I’m wondering if her workload has increased 11%?…I doubt it)

    And people wonder why we have waiting lists for health services. With these layoffs the waiting lists just got longer. I’m damned sure the CEO in question doesn’t wait for medical services.

    Absolutly repulsive to say the least in the not so distant and present Health Care Services climate. Who are these Board Members who would give there CEO such a raise knowing that 2 years ago the CEO had run a deficit of 2m, this year it is set at around 4m, projected next year to be 6m!

    J.H.C. I wish I had bosses who let me not be accountable and give me 11% raises with a nice cushiony salary of over $200,000 plus benefits!

    How could you get up in the morning and look in the mirror knowing that 30 low paying jobs of people just making ends meet are getting kicked out the door while the big cheeses responsible for running the place are sacred without having to make sacrifices. Can’t wait to see the $100,000 club rolling out of the WGH this year!

    Shame on you WGH Board you failed the community as well!
