MY BLOODY VALENTINE…REVIEWED BY SCOTTY HARDCORE

This is the latest movie in the recent trend of horror film remakes, following Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, and Halloween, and although they can never match up to the classic originals, they are enjoyable in their own ways, at least in my opinion.
The movie begins in the town of Harmony, with a mining accident being caused by rookie miner Tom Hanniger (Jensen Ackles of TV’s Supernatural). As his father owns the mining company, there is some resentment directed towards Tom from the experienced miners due to him getting a job there. Failing to bleed the lines one day, he inadvertly causes an explosion to occur, which buries 5 miners.
When the bodies are recovered, only one miner is still alive, Harry Warden. He remains in a coma for a year, until waking up on Valentine’s Day to go on a murderous rampage. Other patients, nurses, and partying teenagers all become his victims, before he is shot by the sheriff and presumed to be dead.
Flash forward 10 years later, and Tom has come home in order to sell the company in the aftermath of his father passing away. This does not make him too popular with all those who depend on the mine as the lifeblood of the community. He also discovers that his former girlfriend is married to his friend Axel, who has become the new sheriff. This causes a certain amount of animosity between the two friends.
Things become deadly serious when people start getting murdered again, and Harry Warden’s unmarked grave to revealed to be empty, as if he dug himself out in search of more victims to slaughter with his pickaxe. Paranoia and suspicion between some of the townfolk becomes the order of the day, with the ex-sheriff not sure whether Harry was truly dead back in the day.
Is it really Harry Warden come back for revenge? Or is it someone else? One thing is for sure, this roller coaster ride of a movie will have you guessing until the very end. Make sure you see this in the 3D version, as the inventively gory murder scenes are something else! Add to that non-stop killer suspense, and a segment where a hot girl is fully naked for at least 5 minutes, and you have an awesome movie that I would definitely recommend.
