Does this mean that garbage men are now working for by-law enforcement? Will they have the authority to impose fines on the public? Most of the regulations seem reasonable but I see enforcement being a problem.

    Enter the Garbage Police………

    LOL!
    FOr sure.
The big problem is building more useless bylaws that never get enforced.
Hell, beside my shop in downtown Woodstock my neighbouring tenant lets his dog shit everywhere and there is nothing anyone can do about it even though the tracks lead directly back to this pricks door. I’ve called bylaw many times and they do not do shit about it. They don’t even care.
I’ve taken to throwing it back in front of the neighbours door, where he then throws it into the public flower beds.
It ain’t the dogs fault, but the idiot owner should be held accountable.
And on top of that, the tenant actually lives in a unit that is zoned commercial, but there ain’t shit our bylaw guy will do about that…even though there is no bathing facility in the unit, kitchen or anything.
The smell is terrible, the garbage they pile up is terrible, and the bylaw guy draws a paycheque for doing squat.
I doubt we’ll see anyone charged under the new system.
Whenever you call the bylaw guys about garbage, they tell you to dig through it yourself and find the perpetrators.(even though they get paid to do this job)
    Fuck that.

“The big problem is building more useless bylaws that never get enforced.”

You seem to think the by-laws are written for your benefit. They’re not. They’re written for the Corporation’s benefit. They’re also selectively enforced for the convenience and benefit of the Corporation.

The idea that Council and the City administration are working for you is simply not born out by reality. Just shut up and pay your taxes. The city needs the money so Harding can go to Japan and get some relief from this nasty weather.
