Woodstocks’ Integrity Commissioner..Calls It Quits?

NOTHING TO ENFORCE HERE, THE INTEGRITY COMMISIONER REFUSES TO RENEW HIS TERM
It appears that Woodstocks’ flirtation with Integrity has come to an end.
In his annual report on the state of the city and its’ issue with integrity,Dr Ian Hunter the Integrity commissioner for the city of Woodstock has decided there is nothing he can do here for this city so he has tendered his resignation effective at the end of his contract.
Some interesting points that need to be discussed are why Dr Hunter claims there were at least 2 seperate complaints that he felt were worth looking into but the complainants were too fearful to file the complaints as the mechanism for the complaint filing process is flawed by its’ design.
He claims that the process is subject to interference from city officials(ie…the clerk and mayor who vet all integrity complaints)and that as a result there is little that he can do to investigate anything.
Basically, the mayor and city clerk decide whats’ worth complaining about…and what isn’t…so if you have a complaint against the mayor…you are shit out of luck as the commissioner will probably never see the complaint.(does it just hit the garbage can???)
So, the mayor and his cronies devised an Accountability and Integrity bylaw that prevents the investigator from investigating.
I would think that whoever gets into office after Harding could change the perimeters of what is investigated and the time frame in which the investigation takes place to include investigating the former/present/elected/deelected mayor himself.
On another topic…all telephone calls in and out of city hall and every city department should be recorded in order to protect those who work for the city, and those who call the city for assistance.
There have been numerous issues of city staff/elected officials including mayors making libelous/slanderous comments to citizens that if they were recorded, would allow the victim to at least take the issue to court. The only people who would complain about instituting this type of service are the ones who have spent an inordinate amount of time badmouthing Woodstock citizens. For the beneift of all, a recording system is paramount.
And to that end I wonder, what on earth does porn have to do with anti-abortionists? Mr H knows…and i’ll bet someday he will wish he didn’t.
The lack of record keeping in this citys’ adminstration is appalling, but it does give us all something to laugh about.
You cannot enforce integrity, and nor can you elect integrity. But what you can do is demand recall which will force them to have some degree of integrity on their plates.
Until then, they will continue to lie, steal and cheat their way to retirement. All at our expense.

Abviously Dr. Hunter doesn’t want to taint his name surrounded by the corruption of the Mayor and his cronies. Don’t forget Paul B.P. “the puppet master”.

This is simply not true. The protocols, complaint procedure and code of conduct are all available. Give them another read.

All Complaints are forwarded to the IC. The clerk and mayor have no ability to squash a complaint. It MUST be sent to the IC.

One of the cronies that devised the procedures was Ian Hunter! The only reason he’s complaining is he finds that the current procedures prevent him from being judge, jury and executioner. He wants to eliminate any oversight so he can wage political holy wars on behalf of anonymous clients.

When his term is up the position of Integrity Commissioner should be scrapped. He has accomplished nothing.

You want integrity? Elect people with integrity …and de-elect the feckless five.

You want to give ONE person complete authority to investigate anyone he pleases for any reason he chooses? Are you nuts? Just because someone has the title Integrity Commissioner doesn’t mean he can be trusted to operate with no supervision.

This would open the door to frivolous and malicious anonymous complaints.

The Integrity Commissioner is just another political appointee. We’ve got too many of those already.

Well go figure why would you hire someone and not place guidelines on him or her so they can’t come back and tell you are wrong. Just a waste of time and money for nothing but it looks good in the paper. They knew this was a joke when they started this crap and handcuffed Mr. Hunter. They made it look as if they where doing something honest but covered their asses. Just more political slight of hand Criss Angel would be proud.

I look at Mr. Hunter’s resume and I am truly impressed he has done many arbitrations and you aren’t afforded that opportunity unless you have character and good judgement along with a solid background. The problem lies in the fact the Mayor that doesn’t have good judgement controls the decision making process and used Mr. Hunter’s resume to try and give himself a trusting character. To bad we see through it. Good luck to any candidate that runs for mayor we need a change.

‘I look at Mr. Hunter’s resume and I am truly impressed he has done many arbitrations and you aren’t afforded that opportunity unless you have character and good judgement along with a solid background.’

That statement is absolute nonsense. You are impressed by a resume that HE wrote? Did it cross your mind that perhaps it’s political connections that get you the jobs and not character and good judgment?

Hunter has done NOTHING to earn any respect or gratitude on the part of the citizens of Woodstock. He was hired SPECIFICALLY to investigate Info Energy. Remember how that worked out?

He serves his political masters well. We got what they paid for which is a few more shovels full of dirt to bury Info Energy.

Hunter assisted with the creation of those guidelines and approved them. He works for the Mayor. If he wants changes they are on behalf of his boss.

So if he works for the Mayor of Woodstock then maybe the arrogant tyrant should be footing the bill.

I wonder what the owner of a herbal weight reduction system and I would have in common?
Or even better…what does an anti abortion protester, a herbal weight reduction system owner and a porn shop owner have in common?
Mr H can tell us….he seems to know.

One was lied to and the other was lied about?

Oh I don’t know. From the lack of public outcry regarding this scam I’d say most people still don’t know they’ve been phucked, either that or they enjoyed it. Pay attention next time you see Johnathan Q Public. Is that a smile on his face?

    Bend over Woodstock. Heeeeere’s Mikey!
