Harper Keeps Afghanistan Report Under Wraps

PRIME MINISTER REFUSES TO RELEASE POTENTIALLY DAMAGING REPORT ON AFGHAN WAR COSTS
The opposition parties were all over the Prime Minister yesterday as it was revealed that he has been sitting on a report for weeks that details the true costs of the mission to Afghanistan which could have the potential for a devastating effect on the Prime minsters’ bid for re-election.
If opposition parties have their way they will force the Prime Minister to reveal for the first time the extent of the monetary costs of the crisis to average canadian taxpayers. In order to release the report it takes all party support, but the Prime Minister has refused to do so saying that it is a matter of national security and that Canadians are not in a need to know position.
Kevin Page, Parliament’s budget officer says he would really like to release the report but that he cannot without the permission of all of the parties. He claims that the report could be damaging to the government and he does not want to be seen as interfering in the general election.
Ah c’mon Kevin! What the hell! Tell us what you know…afterall, we are paying your wages you know.

“He claims that the report could be damaging to the government and he does not want to be seen as interfering in the general election.”

The budget officer must be related to George Bedard.
