Canadas’ Crime Rates Continue To Fall Despite CONServative Government Claims

WHO IS LYING? HARPERS’ CONSERVATIVES OR THE PEOPLE WHO DID THE STUDY?
According to a report issued, the Canadian crime rate has fallen consistently for the past three years despite the federal governing CONservative partys’ claims to the opposite.
Researchers at Statistics Canada reported that on top of all of that, Canada’s crime rate fell last year to its lowest rate in 30 years! Obviously, one of these groups is lying.Hmmm. Who might that be?
During every election that Stephen Harper and his CONservatives have run in, they claimed that Canadians were being robbed, ripped, beaten, shot at, and generally victimized by roving gangs of frightening little thugs. Hence his call for more law and order.
On the other hand, we have Stats Can, and of course, in a few short weeks, the reigning CONservatives, will find a way to demonize that organization…so we might as well say it here first, ‘(with limited fanfare..and strong media attention)there is a strong liklihood that Statscan just plain old screwed up, and of course, they must be LIBerals!(Or at least they were appointed by some Liberals…we all know the coming scoop)
So ultimately, everyone will be called liars, and Canadians will never know the truth.

The national crime isn’t much of an indicator. A couple of quotes from the news story give a clearer assessment of the report …..

“Statistics Canada says the seven per cent drop in the national crime rate was led by falling counterfeiting offences and theft under $5,000, including fewer break-ins and stolen cars.”

“A keystone of the Tories’ fall agenda is expected to be tackling violent youth crime, one trouble spot in the Canadian record. It has been increasing steadily over the last two decades, said Statistics Canada, and the rate in 2007 was “more than double that reported in the mid-1980s.”

Falling rates of counterfeiting and petty theft hardly offset rising rates of murder and mayhem by “roving gangs of frightening little thugs. “
