Fixed Election dates Are A Scam

FIXED ELECTION DATES ARE REALLY A STEP BACKWARDS
The view that fixed election dates signal any democratic change is immature at best. The Prime Minister still will be permitted to force an election at anytime, just by cracking the whip, and having his own members vote against his own government in the house, therby circumventing the proposed legislation entirely. The real solution to any democratic reformation movement would be not so much a fixed election date, but a proportional representation sytem that would be truly reflective of the will of the people. It is a substandard approach to an equally substandard electoral process. It is disparaging in my view, and in the view of countless other democratic minded Canadians, that they would spend their time on this, while squandering the ability to make real change come to some fruition for the population.
